Boater's safety course offered

The rec center is offering a boater's safety course on Wednesdays, April 5 to 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. Operating boats over 10 horsepower in the State of Ohio requires all person born after Jan. 1, 1982 to complete a boating education course designed by Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft. This class covers the fundamentals of safe boating: state-required equipment, watercraft laws, navigation Rules of the Road, basic safety and risk management, and aids to navigation. Attendance at all four classes is recommended. The deadline to register is April 1. No drop ins. No coupons. The fee is $5 per person.

Little Veterinarian School coming

The rec center is offering "Little Veterenarian School" on Wednesdays, April 19 to May 24 from 7 to 7 p.m. The school encourages elementary school children (ages 5-10) to roleplay and explore the exciting world of veterinarians. Using interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, kids learn how to take care of a pet and use instruments that real veterinarians use. Little Veterinarian School brings medicine, science and the importance of health to children in an entertaining and engaging way. Children adopt and take home a stuffed LVS school dog with water bowl and Frisbee. The fee is $130 and the registration deadline is April 12.

Spring Break Camp

Children ages 6 to 12 will enjoy games, activities, arts and crafts, and swimming March 27 to 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Campers need to bring a sack lunch and their bathing suit each day. Students must be registered for the entire week. Deadline to register is March 15. Registrations accepted after March 15 are subject to $15 late fee. There must be a minimum of six campers attending for this program to take place. Before-care from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and after-care from 3 to 6 p.m. is also available for an additional fee if at least four campers sign up. Aquatic Egg Hunt April 1

Put on your swimsuits and hop into our swimming pool for an egg-cellent Easter Egg Hunt on April 1. Hundreds of eggs are placed into the pool on water zero to 4 feet, where children age 6 months to eight years will scramble around to collect the eggs. Don't forget to get pictures with the Easter Bunny. The deadline to register is March 30. The fee, which includes one adult, is $5 for members, $7 for Macedonia residents and $8 for others. Adults must accompany children under age 3, who are in the water at 1 p.m., and ages 3 and 4, who go in the water at 1:30 p.m. Children ages 5 and 6 are in the water from 2 to 2:30 p.m. and ages 7 and 8 are in the water at 2:30 p.m.
