1 GET TOGETHER WITH THE GARDEN CLUB:

The Nordonia Hills Garden Club will meet April 19 with Sam Friedman, of the Chagrin Valley Soap and Salve Co. He will discuss natural body care products the company makes using garden herbs for healthy skin and hair care. Check out their website at Chagrin Valley Soap to familiarize yourself to what is available. Meetings are open to all at Faith Fellowship Church, 10277 Valley View Road in Macedonia at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Call 330-467-5398 with any questions.

2 LEARN ABOUT PRESIDENT LINCOLN:

Historian Paul Goebbel will discuss threats on President Abraham Lincoln's life, on April 20 at 7 p.m. at the Nordonia Hills Branch Library. Goebbel will explain how the threats started with Lincoln's election, through his administration and his ultimate end at Ford's Theater. Registration is suggested.

3 CELEBRATE EARTH DAY AT THE NATURE CENTER:

Residents are invited to the 2017 Earth Day celebration April 22 at the Liberty Park Nature Center, 9999 Liberty Road in Twinsburg, from noon to 4 p.m. The celebration is a joint effort between the city of Twinsburg and the Summit Metro Parks. Throughout the day, explore the Liberty Park Nature Center building and related Earth Day exhibits; discover exciting features of the Ledges area; learn about both invasive and native plants; and check-out the electric and hybrid car display and the Summit County Humane Society's new Mobile Adoption Center.

4 ATTEND A FREE CONCERT:

The Western Reserve Community Band opens its 20th anniversary season at 7:30 p.m. on April 22 in the Hudson Middle School Auditorium, 77 N. Oviatt St., Hudson. Included in the program is a world premier composition written for solo horn and concert band by local composer and Nordonia High School alumnus John M. Pasternak. The Western Reserve Community Band, founded in 1997, has grown to over 60 members from 19 surrounding communities. For more information email wrcband97@gmail.com or visit www.westernreserveband.org.

5 CHEER ON THE VARSITY KNIGHTS AT NORDONIA HIGH SCHOOL:

The Nordonia Knights baseball team plays Highland April 21 at 4:30 p.m., Shaker Heights April 22 at 11 a.m. and Twinsburg April 25 at 4:30 p.m. The Lady Knights softball squad plays North Royalton April 20 at 4:30 p.m., Mayfield April 22 at noon and Cuyahoga Falls April 25 at 4:30 p.m. The boys tennis team plays Twinsburg April 19 at 4 p.m. The boys and girls track teams will compete against North Royalton April 20, and Twinsburg April 25, starting at 4 p.m. each day.
