Available roles include Willy Wonka, the mysterious title character. He is charming, enigmatic, charismatic, and slightly sinister. A chocolatier who guides children and their parents on a tour of his factory. He is looking for someone new to take over his candy empire. Doubling as Candy Man and Phineous Trout.
Gender: Male (Will accept Male or Female Auditioners); Age: 20 to 55; Vocal range: G2-F4.
Also available is the role of Mrs. Bucket, Charlie Bucket's nurturing mother. She is always trying to maintain an energetic positivity. Sings Cheer Up Charlie. Gender: Female; Age: 25 to 45; Vocal range: Bb3-F5. (Mrs. Bucket will have a shortened rehearsal schedule)
Also available is the role of Mr. Bucket, Charlie Bucket's nurturing father. He is always trying to maintain an energetic positivity. Sings Think Positive and Cheer Up Charlie. Gender: Male; Age: 25 to 45; Vocal range: B2-F4. (Mr. Bucket will have a shortened rehearsal schedule)
Apply for scholarship competition
Tuesday Musical is accepting on-line applications starting Jan. 1 through Feb. 1 for its 2017 Scholarship Competition. Open to college and university music performance and/or music education majors who are Ohio residents or who are enrolled at an Ohio academic institution, the competition will take place March 25 in Guzzetta Hall at The University of Akron's downtown Akron campus. Categories include music education, brass, classical guitar, organ, piano, strings, voice,and woodwinds.
Tuesday Musical's annual scholarship competition is widely recognized as one of the best in Ohio. Since starting the competition in 1955, Tuesday Musical has awarded more than 500 scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000. In 2016, 107 students competed and 19 won scholarships totaling nearly $24,000.
