Northfield Elementary students take hamster 'Humphrey' home

For the second year, the staff at Northfield Elementary School have worked to promote reading by organizing the One School, One Book literacy program, which puts the same book into the hands of nearly 500 students in the school, so students can develop their love of reading in conjunction with their families.

Local college graduates can apply for statehouse fellowship

COLUMBUS -- The Ohio Legislative Service Commission is accepting applications for its 13-month Legislative and Telecommunications Fellowship Program. The commission will hire 24 fellows to work with members of the Ohio General Assembly during 2018.

Rockin' Frocks' Prom "Sponsor a Teen" program is asking for donations to help sponsor young girls who need gowns for this year's Prom. For Homecoming, 164 girls were sponsored and the agency gave away 500 dresses and sold at reduced prices (from $1 to $40) another 500 dresses.

Nordonia Bands are hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser at Applebee's Restaurant in Macedonia Commons Feb. 25 from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets will be sold at the door. Breakfast includes one plate of pancakes, bacon, potatoes, coffee, milk, juice and soft drinks.
